What to pack for a long snowmobile trip
On the North Shore you ride far from everything, in deep cold, in sectors where help is hours away. What you bring can be the difference between a fixed setback and real trouble. Here's the essentials.
To stay warm and dry
A snowmobile suit rated for deep cold, base layers, spare mitts, a balaclava, warm boots. The rule is layers, and always a dry set in reserve in the cargo box.
For safety and the unexpected
First-aid kit, basic tools and a spare belt, rope and a tow kit, fire starter, headlamp, and a way to communicate off-grid (radio or beacon) if you're heading into isolated country.
For the trail
Water and energy snacks, your documents (access pass, registration, insurance, ID), a route plan with fuel points and rest stops, and a charged phone even where there's no signal for stretches.
And a good starting point
Leaving from a well-equipped base takes some of the stress off: a heated garage for the sled, gear drying, fuel nearby and a briefing before you go. That's what our packages offer.

Frequently asked questions
Do you need a location beacon for the North Shore?+
For isolated sectors like the Route blanche or the high country, it's strongly recommended: there's no cell coverage over large stretches, and a beacon can save you.
