Snowmobiling in Baie-Comeau
Baie-Comeau is the logical jumping-off point for riding the Manicouagan. The Trans-Québec 3 trail runs through town, fuel and rest stops are close, and a few hours of sled gets you to the foot of Manic-5 or up into the high country. It's also where our base is: a heated garage and a direct start onto the trail.
Trails from Baie-Comeau
From Baie-Comeau, the Trans-Québec 3 heads west and links to the climb up the Manicouagan along Route 389. From there, two big playgrounds: the loop around the Manicouagan reservoir, the Eye of Quebec seen from the ice, and the Monts Groulx, the most accessible high-altitude tundra in Quebec. The distances are real and so are the views, so plan your fuel: stops get scarcer as you head north.
Conditions and season
Snow holds well from mid-December to late March, sometimes later at altitude. Before you go, check live conditions and trail status, especially for the mountain sectors where the weather turns fast.
